ENABLE INTERNATIONAL (EI) is a not-for-profit 501C3 organization incorporated in Illinois. Its general purpose is to enable impoverished and vulnerable people world-wide meet their basic human needs and improve their quality of life, by providing support services and finances to community groups as well as to private local, regional and international agencies. In its recent history under the founding leadership of Professors Wayne Bragg and Eugene Schultz, EI primarily worked on exploratory projects with indigenous groups that were concerned with developing alternative nonpolluting fuels such as rootfuel for rural homes in Brazil, Mexico and Honduras. Since the retirement of Drs. Bragg and Schultz in 2001 and the assumption of the directorship by Dr. Michael Collins, EI has now refocused and limited its efforts to specifically working with and through Dr. Juan Almendares in Tegucigalpa on several key grass-roots Honduran health and human rights projects. The EI board members include Michael Collins (president), Carol Petersen, Carol Grandstaff, Eva McCormick, James McCormick and Dr. Almendares (honorary member).
